Game Server Add-ons: Extra Backups and Extra Ports Explained

Beyond picking a bigger plan, most of our game hosting plans (Minecraft, Rust, PalWorld, Source Engine and Hytale) let you buy two specific add-ons independently: extra backup slots and extra port allocations. Here's what they actually do and what they cost.

Extra Backup Slots

Your plan includes a base number of backup slots (check your plan's spec — it ranges from 1 on entry Budget tiers up to 4 on Performance tiers). Once you hit that limit, older backups have to be deleted to make room for new ones. If you want to keep more backup history — useful before a big plugin update, a risky config change, or just peace of mind — you can add more slots.

Backups themselves are automatic and manual both — this add-on only raises how many you're allowed to keep at once, not how often they run.

Extra Port Allocations

Your plan includes a base port allocation (the "+1 Primary" plus a few extras — check your plan's spec). Additional ports are useful for running a proxy alongside your main server (Velocity/BungeeCord on Minecraft), a voice server, a query port for a monitoring tool, or multiple game instances on one service.

Where These Apply

Both add-ons are available on most Minecraft, Rust, PalWorld, Source Engine and Hytale plans — check the Add-ons section at checkout or on your service's Upgrade page to see which ones your specific plan offers; not every add-on is enabled on every single product.

Both are billed monthly alongside your server and can be added or removed at any time from the Upgrade page — no need to recreate your server.
