Is RepublicNodes Reliable? Real Uptime, DDoS Protection, Support, and How Backups Actually Work
Instead of a marketing paragraph, here's exactly what we commit to, what our live status page actually shows, and โ honestly โ what's on us versus what's on you when it comes to your data. Every number below is taken directly from our published SLA and our own monitoring, and you can check every one of them yourself.
Uptime: The Actual Commitment
Our published SLA targets 99.99% network uptime across supported regions. That excludes scheduled maintenance (which we announce in advance) and events genuinely outside our control (upstream provider outages, force majeure). If we fail to meet that commitment in a billing period for reasons within our control, you can open a ticket and request a pro-rated service credit โ applied to your account balance, not issued as a cash refund. That's the real remedy, not just a number on a page.
If you want to know what an uptime percentage actually means in downtime minutes, we've broken that down separately in 24/7 uptime: what SLA should you actually expect.
Our Public Status Page
Every piece of infrastructure we run has its own live monitor on status.republicnodes.com โ no login required, check it yourself right now:
- Game hosting nodes across Singapore, Mumbai (India), and Frankfurt (Germany)
- VPS nodes across the same regions
- Our Discord bot
- Our mail server
This isn't a curated "everything's fine" page โ it reflects the real, continuously-checked status of the actual hardware your service runs on. If something's down, it shows down.
DDoS Protection
- Singapore: filtering activates automatically the moment an attack is detected.
- India: Layer 3 and Layer 4 protection is always on, not attack-triggered.
Exactly what's included depends on the plan and location โ check your product page for the specifics of your service.
Support: What "Available" Actually Means
We're not going to claim a staffed-24/7-live-human-chat promise we can't back up, because most hosts that say that don't actually mean it either. Here's what's real:
- The ticket system is open for submissions around the clock โ you can always file one, any time.
- Live chat and Discord are available for faster back-and-forth, with response times that vary by volume and time of day rather than a fixed guarantee.
- Because we run our own infrastructure directly, support isn't limited to "restart it and hope" โ the team can actually look at hardware/network-level issues and application-level issues (plugin conflicts, mod errors, VPS configuration) without escalating to a separate underlying provider.
For the longer version, see how RepublicNodes support actually works.
Backups: The Honest Answer
This is worth being direct about, because it matters more than almost anything else on this page: our Terms of Service state that you're responsible for your own backups. We don't run a silent, automatic, infrastructure-wide daily backup of every customer's data behind the scenes โ and any host that quietly implies otherwise without actually doing it is setting you up for a bad day.
What we do give you, for real:
- Game servers: the panel includes a genuine backup tool โ create and restore backups yourself, on demand or on a schedule you set up. The number of backup slots included depends on your plan (see your product page), and you can add more via the backup slots add-on if you need more history.
- VPS: you have full root access, so standard Linux backup tools (rsync to another location, database dumps, snapshot tools inside the VM) are entirely under your control โ exactly as they would be on any VPS from any provider. If you need an on-demand snapshot taken from our side before something risky, open a ticket; it's something our team can do manually, it's just not an automatic background process you should assume is happening.
The single most useful thing you can do for your own data safety: actually use the backup tool your plan includes, and if it matters, keep a copy somewhere that isn't RepublicNodes too โ that's true no matter which host you're with.
The Short Version
Real published SLA with a real remedy, a public status page you can check yourself instead of taking our word for it, DDoS protection that's specified per plan instead of vague, support that's honest about what's guaranteed versus what varies, and backups that are a real available tool โ not a false promise.
