Why Was My Server Listing Rejected?

Submitted a listing to the Server List and it came back rejected? Here's what usually causes it, and how to fix and resubmit.

Where to Find the Reason

Go to My Listings — a rejected listing shows the specific reason an admin gave, right there on your listing card. Always check this first rather than guessing.

Common Reasons

• The server isn't actually reachable. If the IP:port you provided doesn't connect, that's the fastest way to get rejected — the directory exists to help players actually find and join real, working servers.
• Details don't match reality. A description that misrepresents the server, an authentication mode listed incorrectly, or a game type that doesn't match what's actually running.
• Missing or misleading information. An empty description, a placeholder server name, or fields that look like they were filled in carelessly.
• Inappropriate content in the name, description, logo, or banner.
• The server isn't actually hosted on RepublicNodes. This directory is specifically for real RepublicNodes-hosted servers — not a general listing site for servers hosted anywhere.

How to Fix It

1. Go to My Listings and click Edit on the rejected listing.
2. Correct whatever the rejection reason pointed to.
3. Save — this automatically resubmits it for review as a fresh pending listing.

Avoiding Rejection the First Time

• Double-check your IP:port actually connects before submitting — test it yourself from outside your own network.
• Write a real, honest description — a couple of genuine sentences about your server beats a copy-pasted generic blurb.
• Make sure the game type, platform, and authentication mode fields actually match your server's real configuration.
• If you're adding a logo/banner, use real images related to your server, not placeholder or unrelated content.

Still Think It Was a Mistake?

If you've fixed everything the reason pointed to and it's still not being approved, or you genuinely believe the rejection was in error, open a support ticket referencing your listing — that gets a human to take a direct second look rather than relying on repeated resubmission guesses.

Rejection isn't permanent or personal — it's just a request to fix something specific before the listing goes public. Most rejected listings get approved on the very next submission once the actual issue is addressed.
