Install PaperMC (or another server software)

The Server Versions tab lists real, current builds from MCJars — Paper, Purpur, Pufferfish, Folia, Spigot, Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, Vanilla, Velocity and more — and pulls the one you choose onto your server.

Steps

1. Open your server and choose Server Versions under More.
2. Pick the software tile (for most public servers, Paper).
3. Pick the Minecraft version from the grid. The details panel shows the latest build number, Java version and when it was published.
4. Click Pull to Server and confirm.

Wings downloads the jar directly onto your server in the background and saves it as server.jar in the root folder. When the download finishes (watch the Files tab), restart the server yourself.

Important

• Nothing restarts automatically. Pulling a build only downloads it; you decide when to switch.
• Back up first (how), especially when moving to a newer Minecraft version — worlds can't be safely downgraded.
• Check the startup command. Your server must be configured to run server.jar, which is the default on our Minecraft plans.
• The Check for Latest Build button looks up the newest stable build for your configured version. It never installs anything by itself.
